One consistent job catalogue for more than 100 roles

A large international company established in Norway rebuilt all its job descriptions on the MIRA framework – from uneven quality to one consistent catalogue that can be analysed.

The challenge

The company already had job descriptions for every role, but they had been written over time, by different people and with different structures. Quality varied, terminology differed between departments, and the descriptions could not be compared across the organisation. That made the whole picture hard to see: what competence the company actually had, what was missing, and where roles overlapped.

How it was solved

Every role was described again using MIRA as a shared language for competence. Each role was broken down into tasks and competence requirements, placed on the same axes and linked to the same occupational catalogue. The result is descriptions written the same way, regardless of who wrote them or which part of the business they cover.

The result

The company now has a complete and consistent job catalogue covering more than 100 roles. Because the descriptions are structured, they can also be analysed: where competence sits, where the gaps are, which roles are close to each other, and where an employee can move next. Both upskilling and recruitment are now managed strategically, on a foundation they did not have before.
