One of Norway's largest voluntary organisations has adapted Career Passport to its membership organisation and uses it for both overview and systematic upskilling.
The organisation has more than 60,000 members with enormous combined competence, but no overview of it. What members could do was known locally and in individual heads. At the same time, the organisation wanted to offer members real development, not just isolated courses.
Career Passport was adapted for a membership organisation rather than an employer: the member owns their own profile, and the organisation sees the combined competence in aggregated form. Roles, assignments and training are described with the same framework as the rest of the ecosystem.
The organisation has gained a far better overview of the competence within it – but what they highlight as most important is that they now have a platform for upskilling that reaches the individual member.
